Minutes of Moroni Elementary Community Council

October 15, 2025

Welcome and Introductions: 

Present: Stacey Peterson, Katie Gleave, Kelly Patino, Jordee Gordon, Chelsea Bailey and Brennen Russell. 

Business:

a) Election of Chairman, Vice Chair. 

It was proposed that Katie be elected as the chairman. Stacey made the motion. Kelly seconded the motion. All were in favor.

It was proposed that Jordee be elected as the vice chair. Stacey made the motion. Kelly seconded the motion. All were in favor.

b) Adopt rules of order and procedure. 

Brennen motioned that we adopt the rules of order and procedure. Jordee seconded the motion All were in favor. 

c) Collect member contact info and update website- Phone Number, Email, Name must be submitted to the state by October 20th, 2025.

Community Council members agreed to just list email addresses on the schools website. Jordee’s email needs to be added: jordeekaygorden@gmail.com 

d) Date & Time for future meetings (-suggested- October, February and March)

Meetings were scheduled for the 11th February 2026 at 2:35pm and the 11th March 2026 at 2:35pm.

Review Current Plans

a) School Land Trust Plan

b) TSSA

c) School Improvement Plan (SIP)

           All plans were reviewed.

Assign to Review the school’s website (compliance)

It was recommended that we add the dates of our upcoming meetings to the website, list voting action items on the website, and put all the information in Spanish as well as English.

Assignment to complete training or we can review the slide show.

We reviewed the slide show together as a community council.

Family Engagement and School Events

October- Confidence month (29th October- Assembly), Fall Carnival (24th October), Halloween Parade (31st October @1:45pm).

November- Resilience month (3rd November- The Ned Assembly), NetSmartz (digital citizenship), Veteran’s Day Assembly (11th November, school during the day, parents at night), SightBuddies/Charity Vision, Turkey Trot (21st November).

December- Service month, Singing Assembly, Pirate Day.

January- Wellness month, Career Day

Community Concerns: 

Jordee proposed we have fun Fridays. Stacey expressed the past concerns with that and has given the decision to teachers to plan fun activities for each class individually.

Katie gave the motion to adjourn the meeting. Kelly seconded the motion. All were in favor.
