Minutes of Moroni Elementary Community Council
March 11, 2026

Welcome
The meeting was called to order at approximately 2:40 PM by Stacey Peterson.
Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes
The council reviewed the minutes from the previous meeting.
Motion: Carolyn De Mill moved to approve the previous meeting minutes.
Second: Kelly Patiño
Vote: Motion passed unanimously.
PBIS Update
Stacey Peterson provided an overview of the school’s PBIS expectations and behavior supports. Teachers review schoolwide rules regularly, and sixth grade students help create demonstration videos. The PBIS focus for March is fire drill procedures.
Review of Current Trust Lands Budget
The council reviewed previously approved Trust Lands purchases, including:
- Overhead projector replacements
- Student headphones
- Educational support staff funding
Approved items have been ordered.
Discussion of 2026–2027 School LAND Trust Plan
The council discussed academic priorities for the upcoming year. Continued support in language arts and mathematics was identified as a priority, while science scores remain strong.
Proposed supports include curriculum resources for math, science, and reading instruction, Spanish reading materials, instructional technology, and continued funding for educational support staff to assist with small-group instruction and targeted interventions.
Technology upgrades, including projector replacements and student headphones, were also discussed to support classroom instruction.
TSSA and Trust Lands Recommendations
The council reviewed proposed allocations for Teacher and Student Success Act (TSSA) funding and Trust Lands funding, including:
- Educational support staff
- Teacher morale and student recognition activities
- Family engagement events
- Safety improvements and school security needs
Approval of Trust Lands and TSSA Plans
Motion: Katie Gleave moved to approve the 2026–2027 School LAND Trust Plan and TSSA recommendations as presented.
Second: Jordee Gordon
Vote: Motion passed unanimously.
Council members present signed the council signature form.
Parent Compact
The council reviewed the Parent Compact, which outlines shared responsibilities between the school and families. The compact is reviewed annually and signed by families during school registration.
Motion: Carolyn De Mill moved to approve the Parent Compact.
Second: Kelly Patiño
Vote: Motion passed unanimously.
Family Engagement and School Events
Upcoming events were reviewed, including:
- Literacy Week
- Books and Bingo Night (March 19)
- Library Bake-Off
- March Madness Reading Program
- Math Night in April
- Digital Citizenship Assembly
- Teacher Appreciation Week
- Jump Rope Contest Finals (April 17)
- Track Meet and Dance Festival in May
