April 2026 School Counselor Newsletter
This month our students will have the following lessons:
Kindergarten:
Rhino learns to be polite - which teaches about the importance of having good manners.
Sloth gets busy - which explains the problem of being lazy and how we need to stay motivated.
1st–5th Grades:
Habit 6: “Synergize (teamwork)”
The Big Bad Badgers - which teaches about teamwork.
Sophie and The Perfect Poem - which talks about working together and finding the good in others.
6th Grade:
We will be focusing on the following leadership skills: Realistic Goals and Positive Mental Dialogue. These skills are necessary to be a self motivated leader and connect with those we are working with.
Parent Tip
Strong family connections and communication skills set the stage for healthy friendships.
What you can do:
-Build in screen-free family connection time (games/meals).
-Practice problem-solving together: "What are some ways we can fix this?"
-Encourage open conversations and active listening.
